A smaller growing phlomis reaching only around 50cm high and wide, fruticosa is perfect for compact, suburban gardens. I have read these grow larger however the stock plants in my garden are small and the plants propagated from them are a similar size. Fruticosa flowers throughout spring and stays compact even without deadheading. Will self seed at the base of the plant if spent flower stems are left on. Otherwise just shear off the spent flowers if individual dead heading isn't your thing! Either way this Phlomis isn't bothered. Full sun to part shade is fine.
