This is a terrific little sage which is overlooked for reasons I can't fathom. Its tough, growing happily in the full sun of Perth's hot, dry summers; long flowering (all year on the coastal plain); gently self seeds adjacent to the parent plant developing a nice copse of plants over time, and grows to around 40cm high eminently suited to a myriad of locations in the garden. Makes a great companion with grasses such as Carex, Austrostipa, Calamagrostis or a range of other perennials. Come winter just give it a shear back to the base and new foliage with shoot away in spring soon to be smothered in flowers. A salvia that punches above its weight in the garden and deserves to be planted more frequently.
