A lovely phlomis that is relatively new to cultivation. Reputedly it's a natural hybrid between fruticosa and cretica; the foliage is reminiscent of Edward Bowles another fruticosa hybrid. Flower colour is similar to the mid lemon of fruticosa. It has a slightly upright habit reaching around 1m in a few years and approx 60cm wide. I prune back to just above old wood once flowering is finished to maintain a good cover of foliage. Once the weather warms, the foliar hairs stand up creating a more greyish appearance to the leaves. The change in foliage colour is attractive and lasts until the weather cools. Overall a pretty phlomis, easy to site in the garden and maintains an attractive form over the years.
