Autumn flowering bulb that is found throughout Africa. It is dormant during dry weather but can sustain some foliage if given regular water. It does require a sandy soil if being watered all year otherwise will tolerate heavier, rocky soils if growing on rainfall. Does not tolerate clay. Inflorescence up to 2m. Full sun is best. Grows into a large bulb up to 15cm wide! Bulbs offered for sale are seed grown, 2 years old.
