A great Canary Island endemic on La Gomera, this tree Euphorbia inhabits the cliffs and laurel forests of the island. However it is quite heat and dry tolerant, surviving on rainfall alone in Perth, albeit with some summer leaf abscission. It does happily tolerate irrigation during dry times, so can be maintained in an irrigated garden. Grows to 2m high approximately with a crown reaching approx 1m wide. Large acidic yellow flowers are borne in spring followedby conspicuous seed pods. Makes a great light shade tree in succulent gardens, or even as paired focal point at the start of a path. Mediterranean style gardens can be without a Euphorbia lambii!
