From subtropical eastern Mexico, Roldana petasitis is a very forgiving plant. It forgives dry conditions, low humidity and even brutal pruning, just steadily producing its velvety jewel green foliage to make a handsome shrub beneath trees or on the south side of buildings. In winter golden aster like flowers are produced enmass making it glow when the sun hits upon the inflorescence. Prune back hard after flowering to encourage new basal growth and keep compact. Will take sun in cooler months but best with dappled shade once the hot weather hits. 2mH x 2mW (unpruned)
