A great plant for ongoing colour in the garden as its purple stems and deep green leaves are themselves colourful. Added to that is the purple flowers seemingly ever present aside from the coldest part of winter. Quick growing it rapidly reaches 1mH and fills out thereafter. Tip pruning when young encourages density from early on. Does do best with a lightly moist soil although it will tolerate dry. Drier soils do reduce the floriferousness somewhat.
